Social accountability East Asia and Pacific, a regional non-profit organization devoted to improving governance and social accountability, congratulated the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of Cambodia for requiring government institutions to set a standard public service fee for items such as; certificates and ID cards. … The ACU set an important agenda For 2013, to fight against informal fee collection in the public service arena, and in its fight against corruption, the unit has seen some progress. 18 institutions have currently issued a list of standard fees for a series of public services, the statement said. However, Social accountability East Asia and Pacific noted that the existing mechanisms have not yet been fully implemented by service providers, and the information on the fees are not displayed publicly in the offices of the Ministries. …
